‘Inside Looking Out' tells the story of that contemplative feeling of being lost in your thoughts as you stare out over the ocean. It was an interesting challenge because there is no detail at all, just shape, colour and posture. There is no face, just a slightly angled head, no defined body, just the relaxed posture of someone lost in thought. We lived with his piece in our front window overlooking the Pacific for a summer and it became one of the few pieces I have done where I couldn't tell if I wanted to look at it from the front, the back, or the side.
